Khandu, Rijiju initiate slew of dev projects

 

SEPPA | Apr 28 | Chief Minister Pema Khandu,  in his maiden visit to remote Chayang Tajo ADC HQs today,  inaugurated state’s 36th VKV at Chayang Tajo and announced Rs 7 crore to fulfill the requirement of Rs 10 crore corpus fund for the school.

The GoAP has sanctioned Rs 40 crore as corpus fund to strengthen the VKVs in the state, he disclosed.

MoS (Home) Kiren Rijiju, accompanying the CM, laid the foundation stone for VKV girls’ hostel with intake capacity of 180 students and inaugurated a football stadium and academic block of Govt polytechnic.

The CM later inaugurated office of Chayang Tajo ADC and laid foundation stone of Tagampu Smart Village.

The CM, addressing a developmental meeting later, exhorted the people to work in unison to develop the area. He appreciated works of local MLA-cum-Industries Parliamentary Secretary Karya Bagang, also present, in heralding sea change in developing her constituency.

The GoAP is focused in development of all constituencies irrespective of party affiliations, Khandu said, adding that even constituency represented by non ruling party MLAs have got funds higher than the ruling ones in previous fiscal under SIDF.

On deteriorating Seppa-Chayang Tajo road, he assured to request the DyCM Chowna Mein to call a review meeting with all engineers, company officials and local administration to find early solution to the problem.

Responding to public memorandum demanding a SBI branch in Chayang Tajo, he said the GoAP with the support of GoI is brining all administrative HQs and GPs under digital connectivity. Once the connectivity is assured, the SBI branch would be expedited, he assured.

On demand for a helipad, he urged the locals to propose suitable location and assured funds within this year. However, on air connectivity, he informed that Pasighat and Tezu will be connected by fixed wing commercial aircraft services within next few months.

On Itanagar airport, he informed that the committee report on proposed Greenfield airport is ready and will be placed before the Cabinet on May 10 next for a final decision and the GoI will be intimated accordingly.

Rijiju earlier said that East Kameng district has seen highest mobilization of funds for roads and hoped that connectivity within the district will be improved in next few years. He said that fund flow under BADP strengthened at his initiative to meet developmental requirement besides funds under CSR were mobilized for several health sector and community development measures.

Parliamentary Secretaries Mama Natung (RD) & Tapuk Taku (Tax & Excise), Arunachal Press Club president Chopa Cheda & AAPSU president Hawa Bagang  accompanied the CM-led entourage.
